Summer 2019 North Dakota Chapter News

North Dakota BHA saw its first birthday on April 12, and after a year of incredible growth and learning, we are grateful to be where we are.  Thank you to our members for your support and participation!

The state board has been working to promote membership involvement by creating six regions and developing member-based committees for each region. If interested in becoming involved in your region contact the chapter through email ([email protected]) or on social media. With the building of these committees, we have numerous boots on the ground projects slated for the 2019 summer months. Out West, these projects include renovation of the Whitetail Campground and a Guide Signage Project in the Little Missouri Grasslands. In the Sheyenne National Grasslands, out East, we’re scheduling projects helping with the removal of non-native buckthorn and cleanup of the Sheyenne River Trail.

We had the opportunity to monitor our first legislative assembly for North Dakota and managed to come out on top for a number of bills that threatened to transfer or develop public lands. We will also participate in the family shooting event again this July, hosted by the Bismarck-Mandan Rifle and Pistol Association. We will also be hosting our 2nd Annual North Dakota BHA Rendezvous on August 9th, 10th, and 11th at Sully Creek Campground, south of Medora, ND.  This will again coincide with the Rough Rider Archers Badlands Classic 3D shoot which takes place on the Little Missouri Grasslands.  We are proud to announce that we have volunteered to help with setup (course design) and take down of the shoot. We also will have a booth and be raffling prizes at the shoot. Anyone located in South Dakota or Eastern Montana is welcome to attend the shoot to support NDBHA and Rough Rider Archers of Dickinson, ND.
