Join BHA and our federal employees from the Ouray Ranger District of the GMUG National Forest removing approximately 1/2 mile of old sheep wire fence near the rim of the Spring Creek Canyon on the Uncompahgre Plateau south of Montrose. The rim of the Spring Creek Canyon is a major travel way for elk and mule deer, and removing the existing fence will eliminate a barrier to movement and entrapment of big game. Volunteers need to dress in long pants and long-sleeved shirts, wear sturdy footwear, and supply their own gloves. You will also need to bring your own lunch and water for the day. The Forest Service will provide all tools necessary and haul the old fence material off the site to be recycled in Montrose. BHA will provide beer and other refreshments at the end of the work day.
Please RSVP by 6/09/25.
