Public Land Habitat Improvement Work Day Help Improve Habitat for Turkey, Quail, and Deer
Join the Oklahoma Chapter of BHA as they collaborate for a hands-on habitat improvement project focused on enhancing public land for wild turkey, quail, and white-tailed deer. Volunteers will use the “hack-and-squirt” method—making small cuts into non-desirable trees or invasive species with a hatchet, then applying herbicide into the cut using a squirt bottle. This targeted method promotes healthy native vegetation and improves food and cover for wildlife.
This project is a collaborative effort between OK Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Quail Forever, and the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), working together to improve wildlife habitat and promote conservation on public lands.
