Are you interested in small game hunting but unsure where to start? Or maybe you want to connect with fellow hunting enthusiasts? Join the Florida Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers as well as the American Daughters of Conservation (ADC) Florida Chapter for their upcoming Small Game Hunt.
Given that ADC is an all women's organization, we encourage you to bring your daughters, sisters, girlfriends and wives on this adventure!
We will meet at 7am on February 16th at the check station of Upper Hillsborough WMA in Zephyrhills, FL. Following a short safety briefing, the group will split up to go hunt for the morning, and meet up for a wild game lunch provided by your hosts. There will also be merchandise for sale and awesome raffle prizes to be won at the wild game lunch.
In addition, you may choose to come the night prior (Feb 15th), and camp out with attendees and hosts at the WMA camp site. Camp sites are primitive, and you will need to provide your own camping gear.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in:
- A Small Game Hunting Safety Review
- Demonstrations on Field Dressing Small Game
- In-field instruction on identifying the habitats of target species
- Guidance on safe firearm handling in the field
This event is free to attend, beginner and family-friendly, and we'll have some great raffles!
