event_description: Once again, come join BHA volunteers and CDFW staff at a multispecies event complete with fishing for native lahotan cutthroat trout (LCT), bear hunting, electroshocking and counting fish on Silver Creek, and presentations from wildlife experts on Eastern Sierra native fish and black bear.  This is a fantastic way to not only fish the newly restored Wolf Creek for native LCT, which is a fun fishery and hunt in some prime bear habitat in X12, but also aid CDFW in the restoration of LCT in nearby Silver Creek. We will be aiding CDFW on Friday and Saturday with electroshocking and counting fish on Silver Creek. This will require a bit of heavy lifting up to fifty pounds and a few miles of walking. Due to the methods used to shock fish, folks with heart conditions might want to sit this one out. We can spend the rest of our time on Saturday and Sunday stalking bear or tossing dry flies to hungry lahotans. We will be camping along Wolf Creek which has a number of campsites including a larger area at the end of the road where we will be meeting.  Keep in mind we will be traveling on Forest Service roads, so larger RVs and trailers might not be a good idea.  Smaller teardrop style trailers can make the trip just fine.Come for the weekend, but if you are only available for a single day, that works too. Please RSPV if you plan to attend, and if you plan to hunt or fish make sure you have the appropriate licenses and tags. Weather can be hit or miss in late September. It could be snowing, or it could be sunny. Be prepared for either.Various camp sites are available along FS-32062D, but we will be meeting at the end of the road.NOTE: You must pass through the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center check station to reach Wolf and Silver Creek, which are on public land. Just tell the guard station you are going to Wolf or Silver Creek, and they will let you pass through. Past the guard station, continue straight being careful not to turn right nor left onto the base itself.
