The purpose of this event is to help beginner or curious hunters learn to find deer through post season scouting and shed hunting. We will learn to how to read topo maps to help identify where deer travel from bedding areas to food sources in the Ouachita Mtns. Once we have some predetermined locations picked out we will then set out and scout these places and meet back at the starting location to eat lunch and discuss what we found.Then we will discuss how we can apply that information to next years deer season. Please have OnX downloaded onto your phone before you arrive, bring some trash bags for picking up litter you may see, wear good boots, be dressed for the ever changing Arkansas weather and bring food and water. If you don’t know how to use OnX, just have it downloaded on your phone and myself or another volunteer will help you with navigating it. Watch the Arkansas BHA page for cancellation due to weather.
