Help celebrate our public lands this Colorado Public Lands Day by getting your boots on the ground for a marijuana grow site clean-up with the Forest Service on Colorado Public Lands Day Saturday, May 18!
BHA members will be cleaning up an illegal marijuana grow site on Pike San Isabel National Forest near Coaldale, CO. We are returning, for our second year, to assist the National Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management in recovering another backcountry site where USFS and BLM law enforcement have removed individuals growing marijuana on our public lands. Law enforcement has gone in a cleared the area of any danger or illegal activity, and they need our help removing the infrastructure set up on that site.
Additionally, we will be camping the night before at the Hayden Creek Campground (https://goo.gl/maps/pYRNSoH5HmKUboNdA),so come join us for some fishing and fun on Friday and Saturday night (May 17th and 18th).
For those who aren’t able to make the campout, we will be rallying on Saturday, May 18th at 9:00 a.m. at the Coaldale Community Center at the junction of Hayden Creek Road and County Road 45 in Coaldale (https://goo.gl/maps/ZQJ9CLBdAAi6nu8a7). From there, we will be heading to the grow site, about 2 miles on foot from the road, to remove structures, irrigation, and garbage from the forest.
Details are subject to change and we will reach out to all RSVPs if any changes occur.
