The South Dakota Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is a volunteer-led effort. You can see a list of current Chapter Board Members here. At times, we have Chapter Board Member openings. This page serves to highlight current opportunities with directions on how to apply.
Current Openings:
(application deadline Monday, September 30th)
Members of the Chapter Board shall be conservation-minded individuals who will commit to actively uphold our hunting and fishing heritage and the ecological health of our wild public lands, waters and wildlife. In general, board members should:
- Expect to pledge a minimum of 10 hours/month toward BHA activities (required use of Basecamp file sharing and communication platform and attendance at monthly board calls)
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have an active BHA membership
- Act in good faith and in a manner that the Chapter Board Member believes to be in the best interest of BHA and consistent with BHA’s mission and priorities
- Sign a Chapter Leader Service Agreement that includes a conflict of interest disclosure, position description, privacy policy and code of conduct.
Candidates will be reviewed by SD BHA's Board before a two-thirds Board vote is required for final approval.
