In recognition of Public Lands Month, SD BHA leaders earned their conservation karma last weekend packing out trash at Thompson Lake as a part of South Dakota Game, Fish, and Park's Adopt-A-Lake program. The program started in 2018 in an effort to keep fishing and recreation sites clean across the state.
"We did what we could with the small crew we had, but I think we made a little big of an impact," said SD BHA Chapter Leader, Kevin Healy, who led the effort. They packed out a tire, fan, and a few small bags of trash.
The chapter will continue their involvement in the program next year and encourage volunteers to join next year.
