SC Supports Bill H3872, Hunting Heritage Protection Act

Copy_of_imagebuild(1200_x_1200_px).pngSouth Carolina Bill H3872 "Hunting Heritage Protection Act" is measure aimed at preserving and promoting hunting opportunities on South Carolina's Department of Natural Resources managed lands.

A core provision of the bill mandates that DNR-managed lands remain open for hunting, barring closures necessary for wildlife management or other statutory reasons. Importantly, it requires that any closure of hunting lands be offset by opening equivalent acreage elsewhere, ensuring no net loss of hunting opportunities. This guarantees that the total habitat land available for hunting as of January 1, 2026, is maintained or expanded, reflecting a commitment to preserving our hunting heritage.
