Public lands hunting traditions underlie new alliance with longtime industry innovator
MISSOULA, Mont. – Savage Arms and Backcountry Hunters & Anglers today announced the launch of a corporate partnership that will advance both Savage’s and BHA’s efforts to protect and expand North America’s invaluable public lands hunting heritage.
Headquartered in Westfield, Massachusetts, Savage Arms is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of hunting rifles and shotguns. Delivering innovative products for more than a century, Savage has built a reputation for continuously improving firearm design while becoming the standard for accuracy and value in the industry.
“North America’s hunting traditions rely on our commitment to conserving critical areas of habitat and expanding opportunities for sportsmen to experience solitude, challenge and adventure in the backcountry,” said BHA President and CEO Land Tawney. “That’s why we at Backcountry Hunters & Anglers look forward to working with Savage Arms. Their commitment to conservation and sustaining our hunting traditions is vitally important. BHA is proud to have them as a partner.”
As a Platinum Corporate Partner of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Savage will be providing BHA chapters across the continent with Savage rifles – the Axis II in 6.5 Creedmoor and 13 cases of Federal Premium in 6.5 with Nosler Accubond bullets – to support the conservation of public lands, increase access for hunters and drive new BHA memberships.
“A large part of our customer base depends on public lands to hunt and shoot,” said Ryan Bronson, director of conservation for Savage Arms. “Advocating for habitat and public lands are a core part of our conservation mission, and Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is a dynamic and growing organization that is tapping into our community’s passion for these wild places.”
Sportsmen attending BHA’s 7th annual Rendezvous will have the chance to win a Savage rifle. Learn more about the 2018 Rendezvous, the largest gathering of public lands hunters and anglers in North America, taking place in Boise, Idaho, April 12-14.
