To build a stronger, more understanding relationship between hunters and the general public, the NM Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers will once again be working with NMDGF Conservation Officers and Albuquerque Open Space staff to conduct a public outreach day during the 2022 January Bowhunt in the Sandia Ranger District. Our efforts will be concentrated at trailheads in the Sandia foothills on Saturday and Sunday, January 1 and 2, where a majority of the hunter/public interaction occurs.
We are seeking a diverse group of welcoming BHA members to work alongside NMDGF officers at key trailheads from 7 am – 1 pm (shifts TBD based on volunteer interest and availability). Volunteers and officers will offer information and answer questions for interested passersby.
