The California Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is looking for volunteers to help the CDFW and the Society for the Conservation of Bighorn Sheep perform the annual Desert Bighorn Sheep survey in the San Gabriel mountains outside of Los Angeles.
There is a MANDATORY meeting on Feb. 29 and the event will start early in the morning on March 1st. Please see the information below taken from the sheep survey website:
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Forest Service, and Society for the Conservation of Bighorn Sheep are pleased to announce the 2020 San Gabriel Mountains bighorn sheep survey. We will conduct a volunteer ground survey March 1st, with a mandatory orientation at 6:00 PM February 29th, at the Angeles National Forest Supervisors Office in Arcadia. Your efforts have enabled us to track the growth of this unique population of majestic bighorn sheep for over 30 years.
This is great chance to meet fellow LA area based hunters and conservationist while honing your glassing game on some incredibly animals.
