Join the Kansas BHA Chapter on May 17th at 9:00 am for a WIHA Habitat Improvement Workday! This is a long time WIHA property, which historically has held excellent habitat but is in need of cedar tree removal to aid in some controlled burns over the next few years.
iWIHA (Integrated Walk-in Hunting Access) areas are tracts of public land that allow for public hunting access. These parcels are integral to our ability to increase the amount of land we have to hunt, and it is our responsibility to make sure these lands stay clean and enjoyable in order to keep them open.
This will be a day filled with chainsaw work. If you have a chainsaw bring it along, use of UTV’s for the day is also allowed. Other items to bring would be fuel, bar oil, chaps, gloves, ear and eye protection. KDWP will be partnering with Kansas BHA on this and will have additional saws available for those who do not have one so all willing hands are welcome.
BHA will be providing lunch and there is camping available at Webster Lake and in Kirwin if you would like to come in early, or make a weekend trip of it. This event is open to BHA members, friends, and non-members!
Hope to see you there!
