Throughout Public Lands Month BHA members across North America will be participating in our Public Land Pack Out, a chapter-to-chapter competition aimed at ridding our shared lands and waters of more than 1,000 bags of garbage. As part of this, the WY Chapter is organizing a Pack Out in Roger's Canyon on Tuesday, September 15th (rescheduled from September 8th).
We'll be meeting at the BLM section at 5:30pm and cleaning up to dark. Click the google map and directions link for directions to the meeting location.
Please bring a mask, gloves, boots, and any tools you would like to collect garbage with.
To support this effort, our friends at First Lite have generously offered to donate $5 to BHA for every bag of trash packed out, up to $5,000 during the month of September. First Lite also will be giving away 20 gift cards valued at $100 each to the top 20 public land trash packers. Additionally, 10 gift cards will be given away throughout the month to those who share a photo of the Public Land Pack Out on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #publiclandpackout and #publiclandowner.
Grab some garbage bags and help us leave your public lands a little better than you found them!
Here’s how you can participate:
- Pick up trash while you’re out hunting and record the total number of bags of trash picked up. Then, submit through the portal here!
- Share your pictures of public land trash being packed out on social media using the hashtags #publiclandpackout and #publiclandowner.
