This Public Lands Day BHA, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, will be installing a gate to prevent motorized vehicle use in Dominguez Canyon Wilderness Area and we need your help! This is a great opportunity to get your boots on the ground to support the BLM and help protect backcountry landscapes. The project will run from 8am-4pm and we need volunteers!
Since the Wilderness Area was designated by Congress in 2009, BLM law enforcement has reported numerous boundary violations where off-highway vehicles have entered the Wilderness along the Historic Route of the Gunnison Pack Trail. This project aims to improve wilderness character enhancing the undeveloped nature of wilderness and opportunities for solitude and primitive recreation in Dominguez Canyon Wilderness Area.
Protecting our public lands is what BHA is all about and we cannot do it with out you. Please RSVP today!
