Join Idaho BHA and the BLM Challis Field Office for Public Lands Day 2021 at Herd Lake. We will be hiking the trail above the lake to remove a section of down barb wire fence. This is a strenuous hike (2 miles with 1,600' elevation gain) to a high exposed ridge line in the Jim McClure-Jerry Peak Wilderness. Volunteers will cut and spool a section of barb-wire fence that is no longer in use and impacting wildlife.
There will also be projects around the lake for people that don't want to make the hike to the ridge top. This event is part of BHA's Public Lands Packout, an annual event where members maintain the places they love and improve our public lands.
Tools, snacks and dinner will be provided.
There are many opportunities for camping nearby.
Additional information will be sent to folks that RSVP.
