Join us in the Houston area Public Land Pack-Out at Sam Houston National Forest in support of Public Lands Month!
While we note the ranger station as the location of the event, this event will be dispersed throughout the forest to adhere to social distancing guidelines. There will be no formal meetup or orientation. We aim to get people out, distanced and safe to help clean up one of our important public lands areas. Using the National Forest map, pick a trailhead or forest service road near you and join your fellow BHA volunteers in this important Public Land Pack Out event.

Volunteers should bring their own trash bags and PPE, including gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent, and facemasks. We ask that volunteers haul off any trash they collect and dispose of it properly. BHA board member Judson Brown will be available on the day of the event to help provide guidance for disposal.
During the month of September First Lite will be donating $5 back to BHA for every bag of trash packed out (combined max. donation of $10,000). Snap some pictures and use the link below to record the number of bags of trash you pick up. First Lite also will be giving away 20 gift cards valued at $100 each to the top 20 public land trash packers. Additionally, 10 gift cards will be given away throughout the month to those who share a photo of the Public Land Pack Out on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #publiclandpackout and #publiclandowner.
