Please join the Florida Chapter of BHA on Wednesday, February 26th at Proof Brewing Company in Tallahassee for a Public Lands Pint Night- Nationally Presented by OnX Hunt. The February 2025 FWC commission meeting will be held at the FSU Student Union Building in Tallahassee this year, and FWC is considering opening a bear season in 2026. FL BHA is in full support, and we would love to get together with like-minded conservationists to exchange hunting stories, discuss conservation, and make new friends over a couple of beverages!
BHA Pint Nights are free and open to all. AND, thanks to our friends at onX Hunt – the first 15 attendees who sign up or renew a BHA membership at this event will receive a one-year Premium One State Membership to onX at no cost!
Come talk bear season with us and brush up why this season would be a good thing for hunters, the ecosystem, and Floridians across the state! Research has shown that the Florida black bear population has likely doubled since the last regulated state bear hunt in 2015. This has bear-human conflicts and vehicle collisions at an all-time high. A regulated and limited hunt would ethically and effectively reduce bear populations in targeted high-density populations, thus reducing bear-human conflicts and vehicle collisions while raising funds through license and tag sales.
We hope pint night attendees will consider attending the commission meeting on February 27th. You will have an opportunity to voice your support of the proposed 2026 Bear Hunt, which the commission will be making decisions on in May 2025. You can read our Full Report and Take Action Here.
Please RSVP below so we know to expect you.
(Can’t make the event but still want to support our wild public lands, waters, and wildlife? Join BHA online today or make a donation!)
