Participate in a Nevada tradition and celebrate our public lands!
We will meet at the FoodMaxx off HWY 50 before embarking toward McTarnahan Hill to harvest in the Pine Nut Mountains.
Supplies will be provided.
After the Harvest:
• Wait for the pine cones to open up completely or roast them in an oven at a low temperature
• Pull out all the seeds and place them in a deep vat of water; keep the sinkers (some floaters will also be good but check out ways to use the bad nuts)
• Shell the pine nuts; freeze them as is, roast them then, or research more recipes!
