Want to get one last day in before northern pike season closes, need an excuse to put some panfish on the ice, or want to learn about ice fishing and darkhouse spearing in Minnesota? You're in luck!
Come enjoy ice fishing, darkhouse spearing, and community in the Twin Cities hosted by the University of Minnesota Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. We'll be trying our luck to bring some fish in, all while standing around a toasty wood fire and grilling up some tasty snacks!
Event will be held at Crosby Farm Regional Park. Attendees can park in the west parking lot (2595 Crosby Farm Rd, St Paul, MN 55116) and we'll be fishing on Upper Lake (44.900213, -93.159424).
Feel free to bring down your own pop-up tent, bucket, rod, and spear and join in the fun! Don't have the gear? No worries! The chapter will have gear, but supplies are limited!
If you have trouble finding the parking lot or the lake, or have any general questions about fishing on ice, please email us at [email protected] or call Chapter President, Alex Gorman, at 209-565-9543.
Note: Those intending to fish will need a valid Minnesota fishing license. Those intending to spear will need both a valid Minnesota fishing license and a valid darkhouse spearing license.
