Join the Pennsylvania Chapter of BHA July 20 to 21 for the Pennsylvania Hike to Hunt Trail Challenge! The PA Chapter will host a two-day, 30-35 mile backpacking trip in the Tiadaghton State Forest starting at 6 a.m. Saturday July 20.
We will hike the southern loop of the Black Forest Trail, traveling “clockwise” along the western edge of the Pine Creek Gorge until taking the Blackberry and Pine Bog trails back towards the trailhead. Hikers are welcome to meet up Friday night and camp near the trailhead or arrive Saturday morning.
Individuals interested in participating should expect a rigorous hike that includes multiple steep ascents and descents of more than 1000 feet in elevation and to hike around 20 miles on the first day. Hikers will have to cross multiple small streams along the hike.
The goal is to be completed by 4 p.m. Sunday July 21, then head to the Hotel Manor and Bar from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and post-hike storytelling.
To join us, please RSVP - including the name and phone number of each hiker attending- by July 10th. If you have any questions, please contact Bob Smith at [email protected]
