event_description: Pennsylvania AFI is hosting an Intro to Fly Fishing Workshop!Why You Should Want to Attend:The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. Andy Lehman is our new Pennsylvania AFI Liaison and is hosting this workshop. Come meet Andy and the Pennsylvania AFI team and learn how to get involved in conservation in PA.What is it:Pennsylvania AFI is partnering with PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to offer an overnight introduction to fly fishing program in the Susquehannock State Forest. Day 1 will introduce participants to the ecosystem management concepts utilized in the Susquehannock State Forest and will include a land-based introduction to fly fishing program. On Day 2, AFI & DCNR Mentors will host attendees in the field while we explore and fish wild trout streams. This program will also cover - how angling affects conservation in PA, what is the North American model of conservation, and how fly fishing is a part of the rich outdoor history of PA.*This is an overnight tent camping event. Registered participants will be asked to supply their own tent and camping gear.
