THIS EVENT IS AT FULL CAPACITY AND REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
Pennsylvania BHA invites brand new anglers, those interested in becoming an angler and their family and friends of all ages to take part in a free, two-day Introduction to Fly Fishing June 25 to 27 at Poe Paddy State Park in central Pennsylvania near State College.
Participants will learn the basics of tackle, casting, reading water, trout habits and more in addition to lots of fishing time on a real trout stream. We'll have a campfire every night to tell tall tales and share lessons learned.
BHA will provide space in a group campsite, fishing gear, camp kitchen and meals for Saturday and Sunday breakfast. The campground offers vault toilets, trash disposal and drinking water.
All participants must be novice anglers and have a current PA fishing license and trout stamp. Youth 15 and under do not need a license or trout stamp. See the PA Fish & Boat Commission website for rules and regs.
To participate, please RSVP below. Registration is limited to 15 individuals for the group camping area and fishing instruction. Those that RSVP will receive additional instructions, a schedule for the weekend and suggested packing list by email.
If you are not able to register for instruction and camping, or if you'd just like to hang out with BHA for the day, feel free to camp nearby or swing by on Saturday. While we can only instruct and house 15 anglers this weekend, we'd love to say hello.
