Come on out and join the Oklahoma Chapter of the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers on Saturday June 8th beginning at 8am, as they partner with Quail Forever, Women of the Wing, National Wild Turkey Federation, and the Oklahoma Wildlife Department. Volunteers will be thinning dense stands of Post Oak Timber on Osage WMA Rock Creek unit to increase bobwhite quail, whitetail deer, and turkey habitat.
The Rock Creek unit covers 3,722 acres of Osage County in Northeast Oklahoma allowing numerous residents with opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities.
Wearing long sleeves, work gloves, and safety glasses or sun glasses is recommended. If possible, please bring a hatchet as well as plenty of water and food. Wear clothing you don't mind getting stained, the herbicide spray has the chance to stain clothing.
RSVP is required for this event so that we can plan with our partnering organizations. Meet at the Osage Rock Creek WMA north parking area (36.8460778, -96.2199237)
