OR BHA Contributes $10k to Minam River Access

In June, the OR BHA Chapter board voted in support of a $10,000 donation towards Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and ODFW's efforts to purchase land to expand the Minam River Wildlife Area northeast of La Grande. The purchase would move 15,573 acres of land from private ownership (Hancock Land Management) to state-owned, safeguarding this important fish & wildlife habitat for generations to come. It's part of an active migration corridor, and hosts spring Chinook, steelhead, bull trout and Pacific lamprey. Public access, including hunting, fishing, and other uses, is allowed in wildlife areas, and our chapter is looking forward to supporting this effort and others like it in the future.
