Montanans can’t get to 3.1 million acres of our public lands.
If a neighbor wants to let us walk across their land to access public lands, they should be able to do so, encouraged to do so, and rewarded for that, not prohibited from it.
Unfortunately, landowners are currently ineligible for FWP’s Unlocking Public Lands program and the Public Access Land Agreements if someone else holds the lease on public lands a landowner wants to open access to.
