Come out and join the Ohio BHA Chapter as we collaborate with the Wayne National Forest and Rural Action to help reduce watershed erosion by planting trees on the Athens Ranger District. Water quality is one an ongoing issue around Ohio and much of this is due to soil instability causing sediment and nutrients to reach out waterways. There are many actions that we can take to help reduce this runoff, and planting trees is one of those methods!
We will meet at Rocky Boots in Nelsonville, OH at 11am on April 1st and then travel about a mile to the work site. All tools and PPE will be provided but participants will need to bring lunch, drinks, and we recommend wearing pants and boots.
After we complete the tree planting, we invite everyone to join us at Little Fish Brewery in Athens, OH for a great pint night as a reward for our grass roots efforts! If you can't make the tree planting, we hope to see you there!
