Join the Ohio Chapter on Saturday, September 17 at 3:00 PM at the Morgan’s Riverside campground pavilion, we will instruct people on how to build a catfishing jug. Materials will be provided for each participant to build one jug. If you renew or acquire a BHA membership, you will have access to a second jug (Max of 3 per family). After the event we will grill out and have a night of camping and head out for a 6-mile float on the Little Miami Sunday morning to test the jugs and enjoy one of Ohio’s wild and scenic rivers! A BHA member will be at the take-out to weigh any keepers folk’s want entered into the competition for heaviest catfish. Winner in the youth edition (under 13) will win a new cat fishing rod and reel rig. Winner of the adult division (13 and over) will win a tricked out NRS life jacket and utility vest!
Camping Details: We have reserved three tent sites, which can accommodate a total of no more than 10 modest size tents but group campsites are first come, first serve. If you want to reserve your own site for an RV or a more private camp site, please do so here. https://www.campspot.com/book/morgansriversidecampground
Canoeing Details: Canoes for the six-mile float Sunday will need to be reserved through Morgan’s canoe livery at your cost. You can bring your own canoe if you choose; Morgan’s canoe livery will manage shuttling for a modest fee. If you plan to canoe on Sunday morning, you will need to reserve a canoe and time slot here: https://www.morganscanoe.com/ft-ancient/
Licenses and regulation: Anglers will be brief on important regs but it is up to you to know the rules. Make sure all anglers have a valid Ohio fishing license!
This will be a fun family event, so bring the household and join us September 17th!
