Summertime is for fishing and foraging, and we hope you'll join members of the Ohio chapter of BHA on Sunday June 23rd for an afternoon foraging trip, looking for berries and mushrooms.
We'll meet at the Matt Maupin Welcome Pavilion at at the East Fork State Park Beach at noon (at the end of Park Rd 2 in Bethel, OH 45106), have a brief discussion about how to use Google Maps to find spots and also show photos of what we'll be looking for. Then we'll set off in a couple of groups in search of summer treats from the woods. At around 2:30 PM, we'll reconvene at the pavilion and share stories and enjoy a light snack of some foraged food. We will be doing some walking, so comfortable shoes or hiking boots are recommended, and even though it will be hot, long pants and a long sleeved shirt can be helpful in deflecting aggressive thorns.
So please RSVP so we can plan on your attendance, and we'll see ya there!
