Join us this National Public Lands Day as we work to modify fencing on BLM lands near Winnett, MT. Work will include converting six-strand barbed wire fence to four-strand wildlife-friendly fencing and tabbing the fence with collision markers to protect sage-grouse. A BLM biologist will be on hand to discuss fences and improving habitat connectivity for big game species like mule deer and pronghorn, and answer questions. Lunch provided for all volunteers. Bring gloves, fencing clothes, and drinking water.
The project site is 6.5 miles north of Winnett, Montana, on the Valentine Road. If you wish to carpool, meet at 9 a.m. at the BLM Lewistown Field Office (920 NE Main Street, Lewistown) or 10 a.m. at the Winnett NRCS Office (813 N. Broadway, Winnett).
