Come out and join the Northern Virginia Armed Forces Initiative for a kayak fishing float down the northern Potomac river. Spring is here and we all need to get out and enjoy some time in the outdoors. This is a great opportunity to do just that. We will be floating the Potomac River from Snyder's Landing (Sharpsburg, MD) to Antietam Creek Campground, MD. This will be an all-day event, but there are enough boat landings along the river that people could join just for the AM/PM if needed. The landings are on the Maryland side, but since it's a border river, any fishing license from Virginia, Maryland, or West Virginia is sufficient.
Bring your kayak or canoe, and fishing gear, and be ready to have a great day on the water. All veterans are welcome and please feel free to bring your family. You do not need to be a Backcountry Hunters & Anglers member, but we can get you signed up at the event if you decide to join our amazing organization.
Lunch will be provided but you are more than welcome to bring some snacks for the trip.
