September is Public Lands Month!
Join the Idaho Chapter for a Public Lands Pack Out near Clark Fork on Saturday, September 9th!
We will be meeting at the Clark Fork Drift Yard Boat Launch and splitting into groups from there to pick up trash at the public boat launches and trailheads on the north side of Lake Pend Oreille. If you want to pick up trash from on the many miles of lakeshore of the Pend Oreille Wildlife Management Area, bring your own boat. There are sections of the WMA that are suitable for everything that floats: kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and motor boats. If you’d prefer to stay on dry land, there are lots of opportunities to participate that way as well! Kids encouraged and well behaved dogs welcome, be sure to observe the posted rules for the site you are working at.
We will be meeting and dispersing from the Clark Fork Drift Yard at 9:00 AM and reconvening there again around 1:00 PM for a BBQ. We will be providing bags for trash. Bring your own personal items such as gloves, snacks, water bottles, and all safety items you need for your vessel. Please wear appropriate shoes for walking along rocky shore lines.
Self contained camping is available for free at the Clark Fork Drift Yard Boat Launch, limited to a 3 night stay.
Meet at the Clark Fork Drift Yard Boat Launch at 9:00AM.
