Join Idaho BHA, Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, the Salmon-Challis National Forest, Tread Lightly!, Idaho Single Track Alliance, Idaho Falls Trail Machine Association, and others as we construct a trail bridge across the North Fork of Big Creek in the Lemhi Mountains. We will be installing an approximately 35' pre-engineered bridge to make crossing the North Fork of Big Creek safer and more accessible to all trail users.
The creek crossing has caused issues for recreationists for decades due to the deep, swift water. Installing an adequate bridge on trail #4075 will provide important access to the Big Creek drainage and an extensive trail network, which is open to dirt bikes, hikers, horseback riders and bicycles. The event will begin at 9 am on Saturday, August 3rd at the North Fork Big Creek Trailhead. Please come with proper footwear and gear to hike and work (gloves, water, sunscreen, hat, etc.). Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided on the 3rd by Idaho BHA and TreadLightly! Due to the remote location, volunteers are invited to camp out together the nights of August 2nd and August 3rd. Camping is available at the Big Creek Campground. Parking for camp trailers may be available near the South Fork of Big Creek. Additional meals may be provided on the 2nd and 4th.
