Join NMBHA for a day of ice fishing during the annual Eagle Nest Ice Fishing Tournament. There will be a limited amount of ice-fishing rods/reels and tip-ups available, and NM BHA members will be on hand to help with putting holes in the ice and to provide general advice for first timers. Rods/reels and tip-ups available first come, first serve, unless you reach out ahead of time: [email protected]
Northern Pike are a species that are very predacious on the trout and salmon fishery at Eagle Nest Lake. The NM Department of Game and Fish would like to eliminate these predatory fish, so come try your hand at catching one, while helping out a fantastic trout fishery.
Snacks and ice fishing tips available at the table/tent all day! Stop by and chat!
This event may be affected by winter weather conditions. Please stay up to date with current weather conditions and use sound judgement.
Eagle Nest Lake State Park, ice fishing location accessed from the main boat ramp. The BHA crew will be on the ice ~300 yards east of the end of the boat ramp. Look for a small red ice tent with a white table and gear set out nearby.
