The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. Our stewardship events are designed to support the local public lands we all enjoy and recreate on.
Come learn about waterfowl biology, habitat, and the efforts of Nebraska Game and Parks to band geese. Additionally, we will conduct a trash pick-up of Memphis Lake State Recreation Area. Following completion of the banding and clean-up we will grill out and share more about the mission of AFI.
Participants should bring their own gloves for the banding and trash pick-up.
When is it:
Tentative date: June 17th 8AM - 12PM
*The timeline and exact date will shift depending on the geese in the area but all participants will receive follow up e-mail with information.*
