In celebration of Public Lands Month, the North Carolina State BHA club is partnering with Opportunity Outdoors for a pack out and deer hunting seminar! Join us on September 19, 2021, between 2PM-6PM on Jordan Game Lands (35.689241, -79.030650) which are in Chatham County (the easiest way to get there is to copy these coordinates directly into google maps on your phone). There is a gravel parking area and a trail into the woods.
The first two hours of the event will be led by Evan Trebilcock at Opportunity Outdoors. Opportunity Outdoors is an organization devoted to mentoring new outdoorsmen and women by working to remove barriers to entry and matching new and novice hunters and anglers with experiences and dedicated mentors.
Opportunity Outdoors will spend the first two hours showing people the ins and outs of scouting for deer and how to set up and take down a tree stand. Following the seminar, we'll begin the trash pack-out.
This event is a part of BHA's Public Land Pack Out, an annual event where members maintain the places they love by picking up and taking out thousands of bags of garbage left in the places everyone can call their own. Last year, during one of the most difficult times we can remember, BHA members broke a record and hefted 4,175 bags of garbage out from our public lands. And with your help in 2021, we hope to crush our 10,000 bag goal.
