event_description: NC BHA’s first annual Backcountry Roundup will bring together sportsmen and women and outdoor enthusiasts for a weekend of family fun, educational seminars, informed discussions, interactive games, food, drinks, camping, bonfires, and fellowship. The layout of the event will be organized to allow and encourage attendees to “tour” North Carolina’s three geographic regions—Mountains, Piedmont, and Coastal Plain. Vendors from across NC and corporate level sponsors of BHA North America will set up booths to display products and gear for the discerning outdoor enthusiast to handle, test, try on, and purchase. Our educational opportunities will focus on wide-ranging topics in the areas of conservation, stewardship, hunting, trapping, angling, foraging, and general outdoor skills like multi-day backcountry camping and hiking, in-field first aid, 4x4 vehicle recovery, and much, much more. Well-known guests from Montana to Florida will be in attendance to not only host seminars and discussions, but also to simply have a great time along with everyone else.An optional ticketed fundraising dinner will showcase wildgame and wild-foraged ingredients native to North Carolina and expertly prepared by trained chefs. Throughout the weekend, food trucks and drink vendors (alcoholic and non-) will be around to ensure everyone is happy and belly-full. Campsites are available and can be occupied by anything from primitive tent to full-size R/Vs (no hookups). Port-a-johns and handwashing stations will be provided.Roundup will be the premier annual outdoor event in the state that will draw visitors, sponsors, and vendors from across North Carolina, the southeastern US, and beyond.
