Mule Deer Winter Habitat Project

The Logan Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest invites the community to join us for the Seeding and Shrub Planting project days to improve mule deer winter habitat. Volunteers are invited to participate at one or both of the scheduled days. Come join in the fun, exercise, meet new people as well as give back to the local community and improve the wildlife habitat!

Volunteers will be spreading sage, bitter brush, chokecherry, serviceberry and snowberry seeds and planting mountain big sagebrush, mahogany, snowberry and bitterbrush seedlings.

Volunteers are required to dress for the weather and the nature of the work by wearing gloves, long sleeves, long pants, and boots or closed toed shoes, eye protection, lunch and lots of water. They are also encouraged to bring heavy metal rakes, shovels, hoes, and seed spreaders on Nov. 10 and bulb planters or small augers on Nov. 17 if they have them.

Please join the Logan Ranger District as we work to improve the wildlife habitat in our area. RSVP to receive further instructions prior to the project days and in case of inclement weather.
