We will plan to take out at the New Athens, IL boat ramp around 1PM.We will have chances to win prizes and awards will be given for most trash collected by weight and biggest fish by weight at the end.Attendees will also receive a 1-Year Membership to TroutRoutes PRO, the 1 digital mapping service for moving water in the country! What to Bring:Watercraft of your choice- Boat, Canoe, Kayak, or Tube. All are welcome!!Bug SprayDrinks and Snacks Fishing gear and a valid license (if planning to fish). The Muddy Waters Tour is a compilation several opportunities and events across Illinois designed to increase awareness, education and involvement in conservation in Illinois waterways.Widely misunderstood, the ability to float water in Illinois is not as clear as it may seem. Federal law granting the public access to navigable waterways is contradicted by Illinois law and your access to one of our most crucial natural resources is limited. An estimated 2% of moving water is publicly accessible under Illinois state law, even though much more is considered public under federal law, leaving uncertainty in the conservation of our true wild places. Trash bags will be supplied by the chapter. We look forward to seeing you on the river! Please contact Skylar Paul at skylar.paulyahoo.com with questions.
