Have a pint in the Asia-Azteca room and learn about Illinois stream and river access, and the confusion around its ability to recreate there.
BHA Pint Nights are fun and informal meetups where fellow hunters and anglers can swap stories, learn about BHA, and rally around our shared mission of conserving public lands and waters. BHA members are advocates for public hunting and fishing in a natural setting, are guided by the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation, and believe in fair chase in the pursuit of fish and game. *This event is brought to you as a part of the Muddy Waters Tour. The Muddy Waters Tour is a compilation of several opportunities and events across Illinois designed to increase awareness, education, and involvement in conservation in Illinois waterways. Widely misunderstood, the ability to float water in Illinois is not as clear as it may seem. Federal law granting the public access to navigable waterways is contradicted by Illinois law and your access to one of our most crucial natural resources is limited. An estimated 2% of moving water is publicly accessible under Illinois state law, even though much more is considered public under federal law, leaving uncertainty in the conservation of our true wild places.
