Montana Chapter Recruitment (R3) and Diversity (DEI) Leader


Serves as the liaison between the MT Chapter Board and the Montana collegiate clubs with the goal of aligning and overlapping efforts whenever possible; reconcile the collegiate clubs’ budgets with the MT Chapter’s budget; include collegiate clubs’ programming and meetings on the MT Chapter’s Basecamp calendar; onboard and introduce new collegiate club leaders to Montana BHA Board Members at the beginning of each school year.

Serves as the liaison between BHA’s R3 (Recruitment, Retention and Reactivation) Coordinator and Montana BHA to align and overlap R3/H4S (Hunting for Sustainability) efforts whenever possible.

Represents MT BHA on monthly R3 calls with BHA’s R3 Coordinator and R3 leaders across all chapters.

Works with BHA’s R3 Coordinator to identify and cultivate R3 leaders within MT to help carry out R3/H4S events.

Responsible for hosting one stewardship type event annually with a specific focus on recruiting new/novice hunters or anglers.

Responsible for hosting one stewardship type event annually with a specific focus on welcoming a group of non-endemic hunters and anglers into the BHA community.

Responsible for providing one piece of content for the Montana BHA blog and/or Montana BHA social media channels every quarter (4 per year) highlighting the work with the collegiate clubs, R3 efforts, DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) outreach or the H4S program.

 

 

 

Members of the Chapter Board shall be conservation-minded individuals who will commit to actively uphold our hunting and fishing heritage and the ecological health of our wild public lands, waters and wildlife. Chapter Officers must be at least 18 years of age and active members of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. Board terms are three years. All Chapter Board Members shall act in good faith and in a manner that the Chapter Board Member believes to be in the best interest of BHA and consistent with BHA’s mission and priorities. All Chapter Board Members shall sign a Chapter Leader Service Agreement that includes a conflict of interest disclosure, position description, privacy policy and code of conduct. Candidates will be reviewed by MT BHA's Executive Committee before a two-thirds Board vote is required for final approval.
