Montana BHA Welcomes New Chapter Organizer

Veronica Corbett has a degree in wildlife, fisheries and conservation biology and has spent the last decade working in natural resource management. Her experience includes tracking B-run steelhead in the Clearwater River with Idaho Fish and Game, mapping public lands with wilderness characteristics for the BLM in Nevada, and most recently, launching a boat on every puddle of water big enough to manage recreational fisheries in eastern Arizona as a fisheries biologist with Arizona Game and Fish.

She attributes her love the for the outdoors to a compelling college hunt program that gave prospective wildlife biologists the chance to learn from and connect with hunters. Veronica's first duck hunt was inauspicious, but it provided the framework for a future working with hunters and anglers. She's been hunting and fishing ever since.

Veronica has been a BHA member since 2018 and previously served on the volunteer board with Arizona BHA. She's excited to join BHA as staff, bringing her experience working in government agencies and with volunteers, and hopes to create new partnerships between private landowners, agency staff, conservation-minded businesses and all of us public land owners. She lives with her fiancé in Billings, where they spend an equal amount of their free time exploring new stretches of the Yellowstone River in their drift boat or backpacking into high-country lakes in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness.
