EVENT RECAP: Montana BHA pulls 1/2 mile of fencing on private lands open to public hunting

Last year more than 1,200 landowners in Montana participated in Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks' Block Management program, collectively opening more than 7 million privately owned acres to public hunting.⁣⁣

With more Block Management Areas enrolled than any other region, we headed to Region 7 for a stewardship project on one of the voluntarily enrolled parcels.

On July 19th, 2020, nine Montana BHA volunteers headed to the Hollowell Ranch near Hysham, MT. The crew, at the landowner's request pulled and cleared roughly 1/2 mile of unnecessary fencing to facilitate the free movement of wildlife.

Big thanks to Region 7 Montana BHA Chapter Leader Matt Rinella for identifying and leading this project with the group of BHA members from the Miles City cohort.
