Montana BHA Hosts Successful Conservation Celebration

A shoutout to our presenting sponsors Trailhead River Sports, Life Chiropractic, and Rangitsch Brothers RV for making this event possible!

The Montana Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers recently hosted its inaugural Conservation Celebration, bringing together passionate public land advocates, hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts for an evening of camaraderie, storytelling, and support for wild places. We celebrated last year's wins including advocating for multiple land acquisitions and conservation easements, hosting over 10 volunteer stewardship projects, and raising $56,620 for mule deer conservation through FWP's statewide mule deer tag through an equitable raffle rather than an auction, breaking the all-time record by 38%. The event helped raise funds for our continued work in 2025.

Held at Trailhead River Sports, the event was a resounding success, thanks to the incredible generosity of our attendees, donors and members. From gear raffles and auctions to lively discussions about conservation efforts across the state, the night was filled with energy and enthusiasm. Guests indulged in beer from Highlander, wine from Osito wine distributing, and BBQ from Notorious P.I.G. all while jamming to Two Odd Foxes who provided live folk, blues, and americana music.

Attendees had ample opportunity to win big while supporting a cause they care about with chances to win a Weatherby Model 307 Alpine CT 7mm PRC,  Alpacka raft, full fly fishing set up, and a Dometic cooler filled with mystery gear. Additionally, attendees could bid on over 20 silent auction packages including a Marten tripod, Stone Glacier pack, Grizzly Liquor gift basket, and more. Thanks to Scheels, we introduced our first Wall of Guns where winners got to pick their gun from a wall of choices!

The funds raised during the event will directly support Montana BHA’s mission to safeguard public lands, waters, and wildlife habitat for future generations. With the 2025 legislation session already well underway we continue to defend public access and our hunting heritage at the Capitol, in the courtroom, and in the field.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and donated—your support fuels our work and strengthens the public lands movement in Montana. If you missed this year’s event, don’t worry—there’s always next time! Stay tuned for upcoming events, and let’s keep fighting for the places we love.
