The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. Come on for a weekend of learning how to turkey hunt and meet local military members and conservationists.
This is a dual-skills camp where attendees will be mentored through a hunting experience from the planning phase through the post-harvest meal prep. AFI mentors will host attendees in the field talking through the ins and outs of turkey hunting. Meals and lodging will be provided. Tents for overflow and some equipment will also be available.
Attendees can expect to learn:
turkey calling,
scouting,
and locating tactics
turkey biology and habitat
how to clean and process a wild turkey
history of public lands and waters
North American model of wildlife conservation

Who can attend:
- This event is open to all members of the military community
(Active duty, Reserves, National Guard, Veterans, and Gold Star families)
- You do not need to be a BHA member to attend
(but we sure would appreciate it if you were)
