Are you an adult who wants to learn how to hunt Turkey? Are you someone that is interested in sourcing your own sustainable protein, or who loves being outdoors? If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Join the Michigan Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers for a Hunting for Sustainability mentored Turkey hunt in Southeast Michigan this April!
BHA’s Hunting for Sustainability addresses the challenge some would-be hunters experience as they attempt to break into the sport, offering novices a hands-on weekend of learning guided by seasoned hunters and other experts.
Due to the overwhelming amount of applications, we have closed registration. We will be accepting 8-10 individuals for the program this year. There will be a fee of $50 for the final participants. There will be a training weekend April 4th and 5th followed by a hunt weekend april 25th and 26th.
If you have not taken hunter safety please complete the online portion HERE, a portion of the training for this event will be run as the field component for hunters safety.
We are also looking for volunteers to help with the mentorship component of this program. If you are interested in helping or want to know more, please email Jason Meekhof.
