event_description: The Kansas Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers will be assisting the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT) with habitat improvement work at Melvern Wildlife Area on March 21, 2020. Work will consist of felling trees, limbing and bucking downed trees, pruning trees, and constructing brush piles. Work will be facilitated by BHA and KDWPT.Volunteers should plan on being outside for most of the day and dress accordingly for the work. Each volunteer will be required to sign a liability release waiver for BHA prior to participating. Participants are asked to bring tree pruning tools. Persons who are planning on felling or bucking trees are required to bring their own personal protective equipment in addition to a chainsaw, fuel, and bar oil. Personal protective equipment consists of a hard hat, ear protection, safety glasses, gloves, chaps, and boots. BHA will provide water, snacks and lunch. Please RSVP no later than March 18, 2020.
