About this time last year the Wyoming Chapter launched our Access Raymond Raffle which raised $47,000 through a commissioner tag generously donated by Commissioner Gay Lynn Byrd. We donated these funds to Wyoming Game and Fish to construct infrastructure needed to utilize an access easement secured by RMEF. 2021 was a big year for Wyoming BHA. All told, we raised over $100,000 for public access. We helped expand access to 33,000 acres of premier backcountry and we are pushing back against attempts to lock us out of our public lands. We fought a land exchange that would have resulted in the loss of quality backcountry hunting grounds. On National Public Lands day a group of volunteers removed 550 pounds of trash from an old abandoned camp in the Bighorn Mountains. The cleanup team included Bruce Fauskee, Bret Fauskee, Dan Barngrover and Kelly Deiss. The team removed rotted wall tents, chairs, cots on 6 pack horses. On Saturday, June 5th Cody Chapter Leaders Kayla Nagle and Megan Mclean led a work project on the Little Sunlight Trail. We had a good turnout for the trail clearing, with 11 people clearing 4 miles of the little sunlight trail. The trail was actually in good shape so we were done by noon and able to enjoy some hiking in beautiful country. What can $20 get you?  As a kid, my revenue stream consisted of mowing my parents lawn for the nominal fee of $20 per mow job. Looking back, I don't know which was lower: my charge, or the expectations from my employer.
