We will be rehabilitating and repairing CDFW's Eastern Sierra Angler Survey Boxes. These boxes allow CDFW to collect self-reported data on individual angler’s fishing experiences on some of our most popular fishing destinations. The work will include removing stickers and graffiti from boxes, repairing boxes that are damaged, and repainting boxes as needed. Bring work gloves, water and appropriate clothing (e.g. sunshirt, jacket…)
Management approaches to the Eastern Sierra’s wild trout waters
Nick Buckmaster will discuss various fast-action and trophy trout fisheries in Inyo and Mono Counties. This will include a discussion of how we establish management goals for our trout streams and how we use fishing regulations, habitat restoration, and flow management to meet these goals. Essentially - how can we get more, big fish in our trout streams?
Mammoth Brewing has generously donated their beer cellar for our event so let's pack the house! All fundraising proceeds will go towards BHA's NFWF post-fire winter-range restoration project at the Hallelujah Junction Wildlife Area along Highway 395. This 3-year habitat restoration and wildlife connectivity project will restore 180 acres of recently-burned habitat by planting 20,000 bitterbrush plants grown by prisoners through the Sagebrush in Prisons program as well as establishing culturally significant plants for the Washoe Tribe. The project also includes camera studies along 395 in the project area to reduce vehicle-wildlife collisions.
